Collabora Office 25.04 includes a significant performance improvement on Android devices that tackles a longstanding problem in the WebView’s loadUrl method. Previously, large documents could stall as WebView struggled with long Base64 tile strings—leading to slow or frozen loading experiences.
With the LoadURL optimisation, this has been fully addressed using a WebSocket-based workaround, bypassing the bottleneck and eliminating duplicate tile requests. The result? Faster, smoother document loads and scrolling, so Android users enjoy a responsive and reliable mobile experience
